Emergency boxes. At regular intervals along the expressway are 100 emergency call boxes, painted bright orange, that directly connect the motorist to the Traffic Control Room.

Closed circuit television. For security and traffic monitoring purposes, video surveillance of activities along the expressway is provided by cameras installed at about one-kilometer intervals along the entire length of the expressway.

Variable message signs, also called dynamic message signs or changeable message signs, use fiber optics and light-emitting diode (LED) displays to give travelers vital and updated information while they are traveling along the expressway. These real-time traffic alerts may be related to construction activities ahead, lane closures or detours, or about conditions on the road such as an accident. The signs cause traffic to flow more smoothly and increase the motorway's efficiency.

Portable weighing scales. Computerized scales help traffic enforcers detect overloaded trucks which may cause accidents on the expressway.
