Message during the Donation and Turnover Ceremony of the Former MNTC Site Office to DepEd Pulilan, Bulacan (November 21, 2007)

	Magandang umaga sa inyong lahat!

	I am truly happy every time I see schoolchildren with smiling faces accompanied by their teachers who share their joy.  This  is an occasion, indeed, where we share a common aspiration – the education of our children who will be the future leaders of our country. 

	This morning, the Manila North Tollways Corporation is donating and turning over a former MNTC site office to the Department of Education.  No, I don’t call it a donation and turnover ceremony.  Instead, I call this occasion a ceremony to share in your goal to invest in our children–s future through education.

	I understand this will now be used as the Administrative Office of Segundo Esguerra Memorial Elementary School here in Pulilan, Bulacan.  From this office building, you will supervise school activities that contribute to the education of the children.

	MNTC considers Pulilan its second home, and it is just fitting that the company takes care of this second home by investing some of its material resources in helping develop the potential of our young people.

	There is no denying the fact that investing in the education of our children is one of the best gifts, if not the best gift, that we can give them and assure them a good future so that they can become productive members of our society. And we at MNTC recognize and firmly believe in this essential truth.

	MNTC repainted the rooftop of the building, donated used computers and window railings in the computer room, and installed a water pump for the school.

	To the schoolchildren of Segundo Esguerra Memorial Elementary School, study well and use the facilities to help you in your lessons. To the teachers, continue in your noble goal in educating and molding our schoolchildren, opening the avenues for the realization of their potential as human beings.  And to the parents, continue to be your children’s inspiration of hard work and sacrifice.

	Maraming salamat!  At muli, magandang umaga sa ating lahat!
