What is an EC Tag Transponder?

EC Tag is a cashless toll collection system exclusively available for Class 1 vehicles. With the use of an electronic gadget called a transponder motorists may enter the NLEX without paying cash.

The Summit (Yellow) EC Tag is recommended for private motorists who own one Class 1 vehicle.

The Premiere (Blue) EC Tag may be acquired by private motorists who own more than one Class 1 vehicle.

A transponder is a battery-powered communication device slightly bigger than a computer mouse. It is programmed with information about the customer’s EC Tag account and mounted to the windshield of the subscriber’s vehicle. The information is read by an antenna mounted above the toll plaza.
